One of the most common questions that thousands of registered therapists ask to NTFA team is ‘how to get more clients’. We found out that therapists who have less than three years of practice are the ones who have more difficulty getting new clients. Since the start is always the hardest, it’s time that you make use of proven marketing strategies to get started.

Apart from online marketing, is there any inexpensive way to market your practice? Yes, there is.

How to use leaflet marketing

Leaflet marketing is considered to be one of the simplest and cheapest forms of direct marketing. Although response rates are usually low, leaflets are inexpensive and can be an extremely good way of targeting your market. By simply handing over a piece of paper with your contact information and what you do, you are now introducing yourself to prospect clients.

Designing your own leaflet

You want to come up with a leaflet design that your target clients will appreciate and will find credible. Prepare good contents for your leaflet. It doesn’t need to have 5 pages or more. Try making use of A4 or A7 paper and make everything as brief as possible. This will not only make your leaflet effective but will also save the production cost.

You also need to include ‘call to action’ info on your leaflet. You can place ‘call me now for more information’ or something like that. And, don’t forget to add your website address or the URL link to your profile on NaturalTherapyForAll.com account together with your qualifications and the NTFA verification logo.

The rule of thumb in leaflet design is simplicity.

If you know a friend or relative who knows how to use Photoshop, you may want to ask them to do the leaflet design for you. Or, you can simply use Office Word and create a template then convert it to a PDF file since most printing companies only accept PDF files.

Leaflet Printing

You can search on Google to find local printing companies and call a few to compare their rates. There are many online printing companies that offer very competitive prices such as www.vistaprint.co.uk.

If you have a good laser printer at home, you may print the leaflets yourself. You may just need to buy some glossy paper of high quality from office supply shops in your area, such as Staple. You will be surprised of the leaflets you will produce which could be as good as those made by printing companies.

Best way to distribute your leaflets

Go to your local GP, leisure centres, beauty salons, community centres or even your local coffee shops. People will be happy to accept your leaflets if you approach them politely (I am sure you will).

If you have more budget (Min £500) you can consider royal mail Door to Door leaflet distribution. You can also contact your local newspaper. They sometimes take orders from local businesses and help in the delivery of leaflets. Normally they will charge less than Royal mail.

Lastly, you can also deliver your leaflets personally to your target clients in their own homes! You’re not just promoting your business but also building rapport with them. Well, you can do this if you have plenty of time of course.

Tracking your result

After distributing the leaflets, you may now check whether the marketing approach you made has been successful. You can come up with different headlines, special offers, promo periods, and distribution methods.

You can place different phone numbers or promo codes on each type of leaflet that you’re using to easily gauge which one is more effective.
