About Massage Therapy West Ealing

I have 30 years experience as a Massage therapist and have helped a range of clients presenting with a variety of issues. Some come for pain relief and are helped in one session. Others return regularly for many years - either for general maintenance, or to prevention any symptoms or because it just makes them feel better.

I’ve helped those with headaches, migraines, asthma and respiratory issues, arthritic pain, circulation problems, digestive issues, neck and shoulder aches, back pain, tired legs and feet, M E and Fibromyalgia conditions and more....

I give generously with my time, unhampered by normal clinic conditions, and offer relevant feedback and follow up advice. I believe that massage can be a way of understanding what’s going on for you, and to learn more about yourself, what causes your problems and how you can begin to avoid them.

I’m one of only 86 practitioners in the UK who have trained in Scar Work. It can really make a difference to the feel and the look of scars, however old it might be. I’ve had some wonderful feedback on this gentle, yet effective treatment.

For those who may have issues arising from poor posture, injury or trauma (physical or emotional), I often use Myofascial Release Therapy, which helps to release restrictions no matter how long ago they were formed.

And for those of you who would just love to ’feel wonderfully relaxed and peaceful’, I would recommend my Reiki treatment. You could, of course, have a combination of these treatments too.

My training, work experience and any achievement

My first qualification was nearly 30 years ago!
A Diploma in Therapeutic Massage from the College of Holistic Medicine, in 1986.
I have been adding qualifications and building skills and new techniques ever since.
In recent years, for example, I’ve added a Diploma in Pregnancy Massage, a Certificate in Traditional Indian (Ayurvedic) Face Lift Massage, Scar Tissue Release and a qualification in Myofascial Release Therapy. This therapy is still not widely practiced but it’s really amazing - by accessing the fascia level, it allows the body to unwind and release any holding which may have been caused by injury, or trauma or postural habits, even going back decades. My clients love this therapy as it’s very gentle yet profound. It’s particularly beneficial for those with ME, Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, when other therapies may be inappropriate. It’s also good for joint pain, emotional issues and scar tissue release.

I write a monthly newsletter for my clients and regularly attend professional courses, workshops and events.
I’ve presented talks to local groups on aspects of self health and alternative therapies, and run workshops in Indian Head Massage for young mothers.

I initiated a regular Massage Service at Age UK, at reduced rates, for its this generation who really need the treatment. Lifestyle, genetic predisposition and decades of working can begin to make their mark. Add in bereavement and loneliness - massage can really help. Now I’ve moved that service to the Edward Pauling House in Feltham, where I offer a 45 minute session for only £15 to anyone over 60 who lives in Hounslow Borough.

If you’re looking for pain relief or a chance to deeply relax, or trying to manage a chronic condition, your search is over!

I’m not getting my pain any more and I think it’s because I am coming to you regularly! Massage is pro-active.

Stimulated by your last Newsletter and in the ’spirit of change’, I invested in a laptop support and also a new office chair, with various adjustable configurations; which, combined, have already enabled an easing of some of the pains in my neck and back.

’I was pleased with the way that after the treatment, the whole scar doesn’t stand out from my neck as much as it did and that the solid ridge above the scar had been broken down. But what is the real result is how it feels!.. Below the scar all the tightness in my neck has completely gone, my neck feels relaxed and I haven’t felt the cord! So I’m really pleased with what you managed to do in a short time. So thank you.’ Zoe (after one 30 minute treatment)

This is the first day in a week when I haven’t needed to use Bonjela or Paracetomol. Thank you Moira.

I have been going to Moira for a massage since July 2015. You end your session feeling totally relaxed. I would highly recommend a regular massage from Moira if you would like some tired and aching muscles to be treated. You only have one body to last you a life time, so look after it and give it a treat now and again.

I’ve been to see Moira twice now and will continue to do so. I’m not sure what she does or how she does it but my aching limbs always feel like they’ve been rejuvenated. I’d highly recommend going to see Moira.

I’ve visited Moira a couple of times now with back and shoulder stress and each time I’ve left in far better shape than I arrived. I can’t begin to explain what her treatment does or how it works. All I know is that it does work and I feel in better shape for it. Highly Recommended

I cannot begin to explain my relief . Went to Moira yesterday for the first time was fantastic. I have had back pain on and off for over 14.years and used sports massage to ease the pain. Went to Moria yesterday and she worked right on the cause of pain without me having to even tell her where pain was. This is the best my back has felt in a ages will not be going anywhere else*thank you . Jolene

I just wanted to thank you very much for the massage you gave me and to say; I feel much looser and freer in my neck as well as my shoulders and back. I noticed a significant difference and certainly had much more mobility in my neck . Also the patches on my legs look much calmer and not so red and inflamed. Amazing.

Had a very good session with Moira last week. Before the massage, we talked through how I was feeling which was very helpful. And, afterwards, I felt very relaxed but revitalized, too. I recommend it.

Aged 73 and having experienced treatments from more than 25 therapists, in locations around London, and from Yorkshire down to Cornwall, I am delighted to have moved to a permanent home easily accessible to Moira’s practice. In my opinion she is simply second to none – kind, caring and highly qualified in a wide range of disciplines; enabling her to bring many skills and techniques to the table and, drawing on over 20 years experience, she has an extraordinary ability to attune to the needs of a client or patient. In addition to her exemplary professional standards, her personal care and standards of hygiene are also simply first class; all of which combine to allow one to relax in safety, on the very generous massage bed in her ‘healing sanctuary’ – with the added bonus of knowing that the fees charged are for the actual treatment time (unlike many establishments where the client often loses 5 to 10 minutes at the beginning and end of each session for dressing and/or consultation time) which makes her scale of charges very good value for money. After nearly 10 years attendance, I have come to regard my monthly treatment as an essential contribution to my health and general wellbeing.

I went in to have my legs massaged and my knees were definitely feeling renewed after a day. As I was not creaking or feeling sore when I bent down. And feet felt a bit lighter. My shins however remained the same i suffer from shin splints , think could have gone deeper into the shin. Overall was good massage.

Had a wonderful relaxing session. I was not sure what to expect when I got there but Moira spent time to understand my needs and provided therapy for each of the issues. I walked out feeling light and all my muscles well relaxed, full of energy. Iam sure I will take the help of Moira’s magic hands very soon. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for effective massage therapy.

I have been receiving massage therapy from Moira for 15 years and I am not sure how I would manage without my regular visits. Moira offers great value for money compared to other massage therpists and is much more thorough and holistic, with a range of different techniques and advice to deal with any problems. I wouldn’t dream of going to anyone else!

Jo, Feltham, April 06 2012

I cannot reccomend Moira enough. Whether you are going for a relaxing treat or because of aches and pains and medical issues. I was made to completely feel at ease before the treatment had even started. You really feel like the massage is about you rather than simply fitting into a practitioners routine. I came out feeling fabulous!

Amazing, massage at its best. Moira offers a highly professional and quite exceptional massage. It really does feel like any cares are swept away as the muscles relax.

Moira is a miracle worker, I have degenrative Disc Disease, which causes continuous chronic pain,in the lower back and around my neck/head area, since seeing Moira my pain is tolerable and at times the pain has subsided for days, Moira finds just where the root problem stems from and works on that area to relieve the stiffness. Far more effective than the Oesteopath I was seeing, believe me I’ve seen a few!! and more cost effective, and she’s lovely, I highly recommend her....
