About Dr Chris Murphy - Twickenham Counselling & Psychotherapy
As your therapist, I see my role as aiding you to be yourself more fully. We all experience blocks that hinder this - some may even lie beyond our awareness. This is where I believe I can help.I work with individuals and couples. Therapeutic sessions are confidential. I can work with you on either a short-term or more intensive, longer-term basis. I am a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy - BACP, and I abide by their ethical framework. My private practice is easily accessed by car via the Chertsey road (about a mile from Twickenham rugby stadium). There are no parking restrictions. I also see clients in Teddington.
I am an approved health care provider for the major private health insurance companies. Please mention such insurance upon first contact as your therapy costs may be covered.
My training, work experience and any achievement
*Three years’ training at the renowned Gestalt Centre London where I obtained a certificate in humanistic counselling and a BACP-accredited diploma*In psychotherapy and counselling I have experience of working both in a large organisational setting and in private practice
*I am a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy - BACP (registration number 201201), and I abide by their ethical framework
*My background is in research - biomedicine - in which I hold a doctorate
*Twenty years’ experience of working in academic and research leadership roles in world-renowned universities (Imperial College and Oxford University)
*Extensive experience of mentoring and coaching at a senior level
