About Isabel Monteiro
English, Portuguese and Spanish. Fully qualified humanistic counsellor and registered member of BACP, working online and face-to-face indoors and outdoors (ecotherapy) in Brighton and Hove. Living and working in the UK for over 30 years.Grounded in the humanistic approach which focus on the human potential for creativity, love, growth, fulfillment and psychological health I work with my clients’ whole experience and consider the processes of thinking, feeling and behaviour equally important.
I assist adults and young people gaining greater insights about themselves, their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, past and present relationships and life experiences. I’m committed to help them making sense of their circumstances, identifying choices for change and supporting them during the process of change; or simply supporting them on their self-development journey.
Parallel to my private practice I work for a local charity supporting people with trauma and complex PTSD symptoms and have worked for YMCA Dialogue at local schools and at their service centres in Brighton and Hove; for Cruse Bereavement (I’m Cruse accredited), As You Are Centre in Southwick and BHT Threshold in Brighton.
I bring to my practice a wealth of experience in the educational sector, corporate busines and services and healthcare industries, having lived, studied and/or worked in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, Denmark, Gibraltar and currently in the UK.
Fees:
Free introductory session (50 min)
£25-£45 per session (sliding scale of fees based on what you feel you can afford)
