Are you struggling with everyday life? Would it help to talk to someone in confidence? I have many years experience and I offer a therapy service in a private, comfortable and safe environment to enable you to explore issues which are causing difficulty and concern and to ultimately give you the space to help you to make changes in your life. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable knowing the therapist you have chosen has the knowledge and skills which have been gained over many years of working and training in their therapy field. I see adults, couples and families who request help and I specialise in children and young peoples’ issues which can cause difficult behaviours,
My approach to therapy is based on the needs of each individual client so an initial assessment is encouraged before therapy begins. My therapy style is integrative combining CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) Life coaching, Mindfulness and hypnotherapy. I am an Accredited Professional Registrant with the National Counselling Society (MNCS Prof Accred) and a Registered Member of BACP (RMBACP). I am also a supervisor with both.
My practice Reflections Counselling is situated within very easy reach of the A1, M1 and M18 and there is a very frequent bus service a few minutes walk away.
I work with adults, young people and children from the age of five with many issues including anxiety, depression, low self esteem, bullying, challenging behaviour, bereavement and loss, eating disorders, anger, self harm and abuse.
I can offer both daytime and evening appointments for counselling and supervision at a time suitable for you and I am happy to visit you in your own home if it is more convenient. I also offer telephone and online counselling for clients who find it difficult to get to my therapy room.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more details.

Hilary was easy to talk to and as a result I have improved family relationships, get on better with people in general, improved work performance, increased self confidence, clearer life goals, feel less stressed and anxious. I now understand myself more and have become more aware.
Hilary was very easy to get on with, very approachable and she helped me to look at all aspects of my life, not just the way I was feeling.
The worksheets helped me to think in different ways and I would recommend her to others.
Hilary helped to make my life easier and clearer and to look at things in a different say. She was a lifesaver!
Hilary is a star, she is a really amazing lady who has helped my family so much. Our relationships have improved and we are now starting to work as a team. I now have a better understanding of family dynamics. Hilary was fab and she has made a huge difference to my son’s life and the whole family. Can’t thank her enough.
Nice relaxed environment, extremely helpful and I learned to communicate better.
Despite my initial reluctance to seek counselling I have found Hilary to be extremely good at putting me at ease, helping me to discuss and put into perspective the events in my life that have had a negative impact on me. She has helped me to accept that I cannot change the past and to have the confidence to do what is right for me.
I would love to say a huge thank you to Hilary. I was struggling to cope with my intrusive thoughts and OCD. Hilary helped immensely using CBT. You have to give it 100% for it to work and continue with regular sessions but it really works if you open your mind to it. Thank you Hilary you helped more than you know and I bought the book you recommended and it is really helping. Highly recommended
