About Accredited UKCP Psychotherapist and Counsellor

I am an experienced and qualified Humanistic Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I welcome into my practice individuals and couples who are seeking emotional and psychological support. I also welcome the opportunity to support counselling students to achieve their personal development obligations. In addition I extend my practice to individuals requiring practical and emotional support as a life coach.

Typically the type of concerns that are raised and explored in my therapy room include:
•relationship
•depression
•anxiety
•sexual or emotional abuse
•bullying
•bereavement and loss
•job relate concerns.

I recognise and embrace individuality and therefore offer psychological support which is tailored to your individual needs.

I have an understanding and appreciation of the vulnerability one may feel when entering into or being in therapy. I therefore strive to offer you a safe and confidential environment to explore your issues and find a way forward. I work in accordance to the UKCP guidelines and aim to run a highly ethical and professional practice. I actively seek further training to build on my current skills and knowledge so that I may continue running a successful practice.

Individual Counselling

The core experiences of psychological or emotional distress are disempowerment and disconnection from others. Counselling relationship can help with the recovery of empowerment, inner peace and the creation of new connections, it cannot occur in isolation. You can expect to lead your counselling in a nurturing relationship so that your experiences are heard and validated. Within the preservation of safety, you can explore the triggers of your thoughts and behaviours and learn to control them rather than they control you. The sole purpose of counselling is to promote healing and empower you to make decision that will ultimately lead to a more fulfilling life.

Counselling For Trainee Counsellors

As a trainee counsellor you can expect to receive exactly the same therapeutic conditions as a non trainee. You may at times want to link your own experiences and behaviours with theoretical concepts in line with your academic obligations. Trainees often enter into counselling with a key focus on emotional and psychological disturbance trigged through group process and academic reading.

Couple Counselling

People inherently live in relationships. Problems tent to arise and breed from the relationship in which they exist, the words and actions that bind or divide you in relation to each other. How couple counselling will help you very much depends on your presenting issues and ultimate goals. Couple counselling can help to resolve conflict and empower you to bring about positive change with a specific problem or aspect of your lives. Counselling can help you to reduce your anxiety, stress levels and disperse any feelings of guilt and shame that may exists, so that you can move forward in life positively and confidently.
