About Conscious Nutrition

For a FREE 15 minute health assessment please call me on 07939 085402 or email me and I will call you back.

I am passionate about nutrition and the role it plays in almost every aspect of our health. Despite having a ’healthy’ diet, individuals can be deficient in one or more micronutrients which in turn can make the difference between feeling vibrant and healthy to just ’okay’. Illness, lifestyle factors such as alcohol intake, ingestion of pharmaceutical or recreational drugs, genetic predisposition etc., can significantly affect nutrient status. Deficiencies in any micronutrient can have a profound impairment on any body system.

Nutritional Therapy is not about ’treating symptoms’ but instead focuses on examining possible root causes and redressing balance within the body, in order to restore optimum health.

Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing. It can be used on its own, or alongside any other therapies. I am able to work alongside your GP or specialist consultant in the ongoing management of your condition or equally another health practitioner in the field of complementary and alternative medicine.

There are a myriad of benefits to nutritional therapy, here are just a few:

-Increase your energy levels
-Reduce your stress levels
-Relieve bloating and improve digestion
-Improve mood
-Strengthen your immune system
-Get rid of food cravings
-Balance hormones
-Increase your chances of conceiving
-Reduce cholesterol
-Have healthy, glowing skin
-Lose weight

My training, work experience and any achievement

I have had a keen interest in health and nutrition from a young age but it was only after facing my own various health challenges that I turned to nutritional therapy for support. Even though (like most people) I believed I was always eating healthily, it wasn’t until I had a consultation with a nutritional therapist and changed certain aspects of my diet and lifestyle that I realised the power that food can have our health and wellbeing. Wanting to further my knowledge about how to use food therapeutically and empower other people to use nutrition as a form of therapy, I studied Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy at the prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.

I am a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist, a full member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the only register for Nutritional Therapy recognised by the Department of Health.

I have worked with a broad range of clients and conditions. My main interests and expertise lie in gut related conditions (candida, parasites, IBS etc), stress and fatigue, anxiety, adrenal fatigue, detoxification, nutrigenomics and methylation (personalised nutrition via genetic testing).

Further Information

What to expect from a consultation?

Shortly after booking your initial consultation, you will receive a confidential questionnaire by email. This will ask a range of questions relating to your current health status and diet, and provides useful information in order to maximise our time in the initial consultation. During the first session, which normally lasts 60-90 minutes, a thorough case history is taken to build up a detailed picture of your health.

After the consultation a summary will be emailed to you, alongside an eating programme which will fit practically into your lifestyle. To maximise the programme a few carefully selected supplements will usually be suggested as well as some simple lifestyle recommendations.

Follow up appointments allow me to assess your progress and make any adjustments. These usually take place 4-6 weeks apart. The number of consultations you need is dependent on your current health status but one to three follow ups are normally required depending on the individual case.
