About Yvonne Davies
Naturopathy is an holistic system of healing; it’s a natural non-invasive therapy where the person is treated rather than the condition. Naturopathy draws from a range of therapies including herbs, supplements, iridology, homeopathy, tissue salts, and diet and lifestyle advice.
Herbal medicine is the use of plant remedies which may help in the treatment of disease and is probably the oldest form of medicine known to man. Herbs work by stimulating the body’s own healing power and the aim is to look at the cause of the problem and take the whole person into accounts to regain balance and harmony in the body. Herbal medicine can be in the form of tincture, teas, powders, capsules and creams, and is suitable for all ages from babies to the elderly.
I use mainly Western and Ayurvedic herbs, and some TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) in my practice. Recently, I have started using Spagyric Medicines. Ayurveda is possibly the oldest health care system going back some 6000 years originating in India. The key to health in Ayurveda lies in understanding your “doshic” constitution which is composed of a mixture of Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Ideally, the doshas should exist in a perfectly balanced state for perfect health.
Iridology is the examination and analysis of the iris to determine factors that may be important in the prevention and treatment of disease. Ancient Egyptian texts refer to iris markings and since the early days of iridology it was thought that the irides of the human eye could give accurate information about the general state of health of the body.
My training, work experience and any achievement
- I studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London for three years obtaining a diplomas in Naturopathy, Herbal Medicine and Iridology.- I undertook further training in Ayurvedic herbalism with herbalist Annie McIntyre, and a Behavioural and Psychodynamic Iridology course with the College of Holistic Iridologists in Cambridge.
- I am a member of the Association of Master Herbalists and the General Naturopathic Council, am fully insured and adhere to a strict code of practice.

CONSULTATIONSYour first Naturopathy consultation will take approximately an hour.
I’ll take a full case history asking about the conditions you are suffering from, your medical history, your family medical history and your diet and lifestyle. I will then make recommendations on any lifestyle changes, diet, supplements and may prescribe a herbal remedy made specifically for you.
After your initial appointment I like to see you again in about three weeks time to assess your progress, and further follow-up appointments will depend on how well you respond to the herbal medicine and advice given.
Herbal medicines are not included in the consultation fee. As prescriptions are tailored to the individual, medicine costs vary although typically a charge of £10 per week is made.
Iridology consultations last one hour. I’ll take a picture of your eyes with a special camera and we’ll then look at the pictures on the computer. I’ll discuss my findings with you and email you a full report with pictures of your eyes within a few days following your consultation.
