About Roger Knott-Fayle Hypnotherapy
I too came to hypnotherapy as a client attempting to resolve challenges that I faced. I found the experience of hypnotherapy powerful and benign, and pleasant. I was able to find resources that enabled me to deal with anxiety around major surgery and a mistrust of institutions. That was my experience. Yours will be unique to you.
I think that before any therapy can begin a good level of trust and rapport must exist between client and therapist. I use a lot of imagery and story telling; and draw on Ericksonian approaches to inform my work.
My previous work in film and lecturing has been a fruitful background, drawing on the ability to invent sequences, use imagery to represent ideas, and encourage people to find their own conclusions to challenges they face.
I work from my home, where I have a consulting room. I can travel to your house and work with you there if there is a particular need, but I would need to discuss this with you.
I believe that hypnotherapy is a mutually creative endeavour that both client and therapist work on together. To use an analogy; it is your journey and your destination, I am your expedition guide.
You can watch a video about choosing hypnotherapy if you click on my picture at the top of this page. It features people talking about their decision to choose hypnotherapy.

My training, work experience and any achievement
Let me unpack the letters after my name.
First the HPD
The Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma. A nationally recognised qualification which is accredited by the NCFE as well as by the National Council for Hypnotherapy. This means it isn’t given to you by the people who train you, it is independently verified and awarded. It also means that the award meets the UK’s National Occupational Standards for hypnotherapy.
The DipH is awarded by the school where I did my training; the Academy of Advanced Changework. It is awarded “in recognition of 450 hours of training in the art and science of hypnotherapy to the highest level” to quote the certificate.
The DipNLP recognises 120 hours of training in neuro linguistic programming, and is also awarded by the training school.
The CertDE stands for Certificate in Discursive Empowerment.
I am also a licentiate member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
My work for many years was in film and video production, and I have also worked as a freelance lecturer in film and video. I still work in these areas and greatly enjoy the variety of experience that this brings me.
I have a great interest I writing, music composition, and Russian language.
