I believe we all have the right to live our lives to the fullest possible extent. My aim with all clients is to work with them to change any beliefs, anxieties, phobias, habits or behaviours that prohibit them from achieving this.
As a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I have access to a wide range of techniques, including NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), IEMT (Integrated Eye Movement Therapy) and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), which enables me to offer an effective, truly personal service tailored to the needs of the individual and their issue.
I am able to see clients at my home in Charlton, SE7 day or evening, or at a complementary health centre at Blackheath Standard, SE3 (office hours only). There is no fixed number of sessions, it depends on the person and the issue, but a minimum of 3 is recommended.
Many issues can be improved with this solution-focussed approach, probably including yours so why not give it a try?
Having trained with the Quest Institute, I hold the HPD, the Diploma in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and the NLP practitioner certificate. My degree is a B.Sc in psychology and I was an educationalist for many years.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy combines ideas from Evolutionary Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Cognitive theory within a modern concept of hypnosis to provide a framework for therapy. Additional tools from Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Integrated Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) and the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) enable the creation of an approach which is specific to the needs of each individual client.
To date I have worked with a wide range of issues and ages from 16 to people in their 70’s. I constantly update my knowledge, attend a monthly supervision group, and take part in professional development events.

Customer Reviews
I needed to get help with my fear of driving in heavy traffic/ traffic jams. I was becoming more and more anxious by the day and panicking. I contacted Ruth and was relieved to get an appointment quite quickly. I walked into a calm and caring environment where Ruth helped me open up and talk about my driving and other anxieties that I just coped with on a day to day basis, which included locking doors and travelling by train on my own. With Ruth’s help, patience and various techniques, I’m learning strategies. Knowing that I’m not alone and that I need to take smaller steps helps, anxieties and fears cannot disappear overnight. I went in with an open mind and I feel better everyday. I would recommend Ruth to anyone who needs help and support to overcome their problem/s.
