About Counselling in Cowplain

Counselling is all about change, an opportunity to develop and take greater control of your life. It provides a time and space for you to explore your issues. Above all it’s confidential and non-judgemental.

I believe that you have the resources to make your life better and I am here to help you.

Life is full of changes and challenges. Working at a pace to suit you I can help you find a way through these challenges and to achieve a positive outcome.

I provide a warm, understanding and confidential environment and a relationship where you can feel safe and supported to explore your issues.

As a counsellor I am totally accepting of you and your circumstances. I will help you to build your inner resources and guide you towards what’s best for you.

My training, work experience and any achievement

I am a qualified therapist, with a Diploma and BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling from the University of Chichester.

I also hold a Certificate in Marital (relationship) Counselling, I am a Neuro Linguistic Programing (NLP) Master Practitioner and an Approved Adoption Counsellor.

I am a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of ethics. This ensures a level of ethical and professional practice to protect your well-being.

I have been counselling couples and individuals since 2001.

I have a background in education. I spent many years as an infant teacher and deputy head of an infant school and went on from there to work as an Early Years Advisory Teacher.

I am totally commited to the humanistic approach to counselling and believe that you are in charge of your own therapy. My varied background, training and experience give me an understanding of a wide range personal issues.

Further Information

I am an Approved Adoption Counsellor with Barnardos South East.
The Adoption Act 2002 regulating the work of all adoption support agencies requires that any counselling related to adoption issues is carried out by suitably qualified counsellors.

Having completed the LINK Counsellors training course I am able to offer counselling to anyone involved in any aspect of adoption, as birth family member, adoptee or adoptor.

Adoption is a lifelong process and adoption related issues can arise at any time.

Adoptee
Whether you are recently adopted or were adopted a long time ago, whether you are considering contacting your birth family or have no wish to do so. If you are struggling with any aspect of your life couselling can help you and maybe now is the right time.
