About Samsara Counselling Services

Welcome to Samsara Counselling Services. We are a professional, committed and friendly service based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

We pride ourselves on being very approachable and offer counselling in a safe, relaxed, confidential and pleasant environment. We work with individuals from all walks of life who may be seeking support with difficult issues or looking for help in understanding what may be happening to them.

We are committed to the principle that counselling should be accessible for all who may need it.

About Samantha:

I am an Integrative-Relational Counsellor, which means I am not limited to one way of working. I have a broad, but thorough, range of theoretical knowledge which can be tailored to suit you, as an individual. We are all unique; therefore, difficult or challenging times can affect us all differently.
I believe early relationships have a major impact on the person that we are now, and can affect how we feel, think and behave. This is one of the reasons why I believe in supporting early relationships. I offer reduced rate counselling for women or men experiencing Post Natal Issues. If you would like further information on this service please contact me.
I believe the relationship jointly developed between client and counsellor is at the heart of the counselling process, and very important to the outcome of therapy. Our counselling relationship will be non-judgemental, genuine, honest and open, which is also made safe by confidentiality. You will be listened to and respected. I will aim to understand your world as you experience it, see things from your perspective and work with you at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you. Through this shared journey comes understanding and insight, which I believe is the first step towards change or acceptance.
As well as talking therapy, I can use creative exploration to meet the communication needs of each unique person.

My training, work experience and any achievement

Diploma of Higher Education in Therapeutic Counselling - Leeds Met 2010
Cert in Counselling Skills - Wakefield College 2007
NVQ 3 Health and Social Care (working with children and young people) - Park Lane College 2006

As well as working in private practice I also work as a volunteer counsellor in Wakefield. I have experience working on a voluntary basis supporting adults, young people and families experiencing domestic abuse. I also have experience working with young people with challenging behaviours and adults with learning disabilities and Autism.

Price List

Special Online Booking Offers

If you feel counselling could be helpful for you the next step is to contact me for a consultation session.

This consultation is £20 for individuals and £30 for couples, and lasts around 60-90 minutes. It works as a two-way assessment, allowing you the time to talk about your difficulties and what you would like to achieve from counselling, whilst also giving you chance to meet me and decide if you would like to continue working together.

There is no obligation to book any further sessions. I believe it is very important to find a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable and who you feel you can trust.
Following the consultation session, if you want to go ahead with counselling we will generally meet on a weekly basis for a 50 minute session (90 minutes for couples). We can agree on a fixed number of sessions or have an open ended arrangement, subject to regular review.

My Fees are:

£20 per session (50 mins) for students.
£35 per session (50 mins) for individuals.
£45 per session (90mins) for couples.

Weekend fees start from £50 per session.

If you feel counselling could help you but find the fee is a problem, please contact us as concessions may be available.
