About Cloudless Horizons Counselling

Hello and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to browse. Perhaps you are wondering how I may be of help to you, that’s why before you consider engaging in the process of therapy, I invite you to pop along to the counselling room for a free half hour chat. When we can meet and discuss together how counselling may support you with your presenting troubles. You can ask any questions about any worries or concerns you may have and judge for yourself how comfortable you feel about making a start.

As a practitioner I use an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from several theoretical concepts including psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, commitment and acceptance therapy. Which allows for the counselling process to be tailored to each individual client or couple.

I believe key to the work is the therapeutic alliance, the relationship between counsellor and client. I am told that my open, authentic, friendly approach helps clients feel at ease and I hope you will feel the same.

Some of the area I cover in my work are, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, O,C,D, loss, infertility, relationship problems, lack of self esteem, sexual and emotional abuse, body dysmorphia age, difficult family backgrounds, breakdown, work related stress, learning difficulties, disability and illness within the family and more. Please enquire further.

I endeavour to offer a safe, confidential non-judgemental environment where you would feel comfortable and free to explore your thought s and feelings.

The counselling room is set in the tranquil setting of Brockham village, which is within easy reach of Dorking, Reigate, Redhill, Leatherhead, Leigh, Newdigate, Beare Green, Capel, Tadworth, Boxhill and Headley, Kingswood, Ashtead and Fetcham.

As a practitioner I am dedicated to continued professional development, so as to offer clients my continued knowledge and enhanced expertise. I therefore, frequently attend additional training courses.
Certificated Courses attended include Couples Counselling, Working with the Individual with the Couple in Mind, (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Metalisation Based Therapy, Clinical Assessment, Working with Clients who have suffered Sexual Abuse, Post-Natal Depression, Brief and Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and several more.

Experience
Alongside my private practice I offer a counselling service at two other community based venues and I am a Clinical Assessor at Sutton counselling. I have experience working with a wide range of people from all backgrounds. I embrace diversity and inclusivity. I work with couples, individual and young people.

Prior to becoming a Counsellor my career was working with children and families. Within this role I gained an in depth knowledge of family dynamics and the complex relationships that evolve from family life. Additionally many years of working in educational settings with children who had special educational needs and in early years settings highlighted the importance of inclusivity for all.

As a practitioner my areas of speciality are working with relationships, couples, adult-to-young person, family issues, and child related parenting difficulties, along with physical, emotional and sexual abuse. I can offer help and support in these sensitive and often very painful areas.

Personal Approach
As a therapist I have a warm and empathetic approach and I am committed to providing a safe space, where clients feel comfortable and not judged. I believe central to the work is the relationship, I therefore aim to help you feel at ease and accepted, so that difficult issues troubling you can be explored.

About Counselling
During life most people experience times when they may benefit from talking to someone to who they are not close too. Counselling can provide a fresh prospective to an issue that has been bothering you. Counselling can empower you to move towards making those changes that are holding you back. It can help with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, confidence, loneliness and much more.
However, it is not an easy task and may present some challenging moments and requires a commitment to change.

For couples relationship counselling provides a structure for you to nourish and build on what works in your relationship and have a safe place to work through issues.
Like many couples you might find yourselves getting stuck, repeating the same arguments and patterns of it may be you want to have more intimacy or you wish to work through a break of trust.

It’s common these days to get tired, stressed, worn-down through work commitments or looking after children, which leaves little time to focus on your relationship and each other. Sometimes everyone is too busy to think about what is really going on.
It can be reassuring to know that times of conflict are normal and can be worked through, it’s how the conflict is dealt with that counts.

Sometimes we experience difficult and challenging relationships with other family members, parents, or children, especially during adolescent years, conflict can often arise. Counselling could provide a safe and confidential space to pave the way for compromise.
