About Dave Caswell

When I was younger I was helped through a difficult time in my life by some counselling. Years passed and slightly disillusioned by modern life and "big business" I took some time and studied counselling as a way to offer similar help to others. Travel forward to today and I am now a BACP Accredited Counsellor working in a small private practice and still connected to the counselling charity I gave many hours to on my journey.

My style is that of quiet patience. I am interested about the people sat with me and extend warmth and compassion in a gentle way so we can work together to find the right solution for you. Everyone starts somewhere and I’m here to help you start the way that is right for you.

My training, work experience and any achievement

Foundation Degree (FdA) in Integrative Counselling, studied at Guildford College of Further and Higher Education, awarded by Greenwich University. I qualified in 2008 and have been working privately ever since.

My training in Integrative Counselling takes aspects of Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Transpersonal theories and allows me to offer the client a therapy that works for them and is individual to them.

I completed my BACP Accreditation in early 2011.

As a Professional Counsellor I take part in regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) days so my knowledge and experience is constantly updated. Some of the CPD days I have attended include;

Art Therapy

I am experienced with a wide range of client issues both from my work for The Counselling Partnership (a local charity, previously called the North Surrey Community Counselling Partnership) as well as my private practice. It’s difficult to list the issues I have helped with as often the issues the client comes to talk about may progress into other, sometimes more core, issues.

Typical issues I deal with include Depression, Anxiety, Bullying, Loss, Identity, Panic attacks and anger management. Many of these are entwined so don’t worry if you feel like you carry many of the above with you.
