About Andrew Webb

I am a member of BACP and abide by their Ethical Framework. I offer a FREE half an hour initial session so we can meet each other and discuss your needs.

I have been a Person Centred Counsellor & Supervisor for 20 and 15 years respectively, having previously worked in the public sector. I decided I was more interested in people rather than "things"! I have my own private practice.

I have both private clients and work for several national counselling agencies (EAPs)who contract with companies and refer employees to me with a wide variety of presenting issues. I work with individuals both long term and short term and also with Couples.

I believe strongly that the Person Centred model, built firmly on the personal relationship, in which I offer the Core Conditions of Empathy, Unconditional Acceptance and Transparency, enables a person to access their feelings, find their own solutions and develop their potential. It is essentially non directive as I trust the person’s ability to know what is best for themselves. I will use some cognitive based strategies as part of therapy when appropriate but always in negotiation with the client.

As a Supervisor I am equally interested in the Counsellor’s personal feelings and difficulties felt towards their clients as the client issues themselves, with my assistance.
