My Experience

For many years I have volunteered in a drug and alcohol charity where I treat clients battling substance addictions.

Alongside this, I have experience of volunteering in a bereavement organisation, where I dealt with clients whose loved ones had passed away in different circumstances.

I have also volunteered for a Carer’s charity service in Ilford doing home counselling with many different families. Clients ranged from carers looking after elderly parents to families suffering from various mental health issues.

Seeing my clients make changes to their lives rewards me. Knowing that I can be on that journey with that client is truly a privilege for me. Any potential clients that are out there I know how you are feeling because I have walked in your shoes.

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Counselling. I abide by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

About Counselling

Counselling is a way of exploring difficulties in your life with someone who:

is professionally trained
has time to listen
is impartial and objective
Counselling will help you make sense of your difficulties and will help you in discovering a happier life.

Whether you need support in a crisis or want to work on a long standing problem it can change your situation in a more positive way leading to a more fulfilled life.

What is Integrative Counselling?

Integrative Counselling draws on mainstream theoretical perspectives, integrating knowledge and skills from different therapies.

Working together we can use the insights and techniques of Person Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you bring about the changes you want in your life.

Individuals think, feel and react in different ways. By integrating different ways of helping people bring about change in their lives, as an integrative counsellor I work with each client to produce a unique therapy adapted to suit what that client wants and needs.

As an integrative counsellor my practice focuses on the therapeutic relationship established with clients. I offer you the opportunity to be heard without judgement, and endeavour to create a nurturing, safe environment built on respect and understanding.

My practice pays attention to how past experiences can be carried across to the present and I am mindful of how this may impact upon the counselling relationship.

The aim of the work undertaken is not just to relieve pressing issues of the moment, but also to seek a more optimistic and untroubled future.
