About Lorna Mograby Counselling
I am a fully qualified and insured Person-centred Counsellor. I gained my Diploma in Counselling in 2005. Although trained in person-centred counselling, I like to work in an integrative way, tailoring the therapy to adjust to the requirements of the individual client, as everyone has differing needs. The therapy that is suitable for one person may not be suitable for the next. I have a real passion for what I do, I really enjoy helping people to turn their lives around and to make positive changes. I do believe in the power of counselling to ’heal’ and that is what motivates me!
My training, work experience and any achievement
As discussed I hold the Diploma in Counselling. I have undertaken a number of counselling placements and voluntary counselling in mental health day centres, and during this time have added to my knowledge of mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress syndrome, phobias, panic attacks obsessive compulsive disorder and addictions. I have attended workshops relating to mental health issues, alcohol
and drug awareness and disability awareness. Just recently I completed training in Mental Health Recovery work.
I have also completed introductions to neuro-linguist programming and CBT. I am a qualified and insured level 2 Reiki therapist, which I believe works very effectively when used in conjunction with Counselling. In addition, I have undertaken workplace counselling support for a large public sector organisation.
On a more personal note, I have had experience of supporting close relatives with mental health problems. One member of my family suffers bipolar depression and I have been a carer for another member who has suffered severe and debilitating obsessive compulsive disorder from an early age. So I can really empathize with people experiencing any problems of this type!! I also have substantial experience of working with people with disabilities including Neurological conditions.
I am a qualified Advice and Guidance Worker (level 3 qualification)with over 30 years experience of helping people work - both paid and unpaid and can provide vocational or career counselling to both individuals and organisations at very reasonable rates!
I am very flexible and available days evenings and weekends at a time to suit you.
Should you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact me.
