About Tamsin Taylor Counselling
Sometimes we feel lonely and isolated and find it difficult to talk about our feelings and fears.
Events and experiences in our lives can throw up hurdles and challenges which are difficult to negotiate. We may feel we lose direction, and sense of our own identity and purpose. The people in our lives may not be able to offer us the kind of support we need.
My priority is to create a warm, safe, non-judgmental environment, so you are able to explore the issues or decisions important to you. My role is not to advise you what to do, it is to listen to your concerns and build a trusting relationship, so you can begin to gain clarity and acceptance.
I believe the relationship that develops between a client and counsellor is the key to therapeutic change which is why I feel it is important that we meet before you commit to therapy sessions. I offer a 30 min, free of charge initial session so you are able to meet me and decide if my approach will be suitable for you.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from Brighton University and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework. I work from The Wellbeing Centre (Formerly The Acupuncture Clinic) on Portland Road, Hove.
As well as working in private practice I have worked as a school counsellor so held a CRB certificate. I also worked at the As You Are Centre in Southwick. The clients accessing these settings provided me with invaluable experience working with a broad age range, with diverse issues and concerns.
Many of the clients I have had success with have been struggling with relationship issues. Sometimes with their husband, wife or partner, sometimes it is with parents and children. I believe counselling can help you see what you need from relationships and the best way forward in your given circumstances.
I have extensive experience working with survivors of abuse.
I have also worked for many years in the private sector, where I trained staff and consulted with senior management. I therefore have gained insight to the stresses faced by all levels throughout a business. Further Information
