About Angeline Tabbada

Welcome to my page -

My name is Angeline and I’m an experienced Person-Centred Counsellor with individuals and Creative/Play Therapist with adolescents and children. I am passionate about the principles of the Person-Centred approach because I believe that there is that innate drive within us to want to grow, to strive for our psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual potential so that we may live a balanced and autonomous life.

I specialize in substance misuse, relationship issues, child related issues, the affects of cancer, carer support and pet bereavement. I am a trained mediator which skills I incorporate in my couples counselling work.

Why come to counselling?

Because sometimes we are bogged down with circumstances, conditions, issues and beliefs that are imposed on us, it can be overwhelming to deal with problems and see clarity to resolve them on our own. Counselling can help unravel and untangle painful and mixed-up emotions; it provides different perspectives, a coping mechanism that enables you to face and resolve the issues that are making life difficult for you.

In our therapeutic relationship, I offer you confidentiality, empathy, non-judgement, supportive, safe and warm environment where you can freely express and process these difficulties. I am your journey partner, helping and supporting you to get through the painful experiences that are making you unhappy at the moment.

I offer a face to face counselling as well as online counselling either by *email or you can talk to me about your problems live on Skype.

*Email counselling is charged at £35 per e-mail and I will send you my reply within 3 days of receiving it.

I am based in Eastbourne but I also work in Lewes.

My training, work experience and any achievement

Person-Centred Counselling

I gained my Diploma with the University of Brighton and I chose Person-Centred Counselling approach for the main reason that it is non-directive. It is client-led which means you choose what you want to talk about or explore without my trying to act like the expert of you.

Substance Misuse

I am trained and employed by CRI as a substance misuse therapist. Alcohol and drug addiction are issues that I passionately specialize in as through my work with children I have seen the negative impact the substance can cause on the user and the people in their lives. The core base of my practice is person-centred; the process of change is led by you while I offer you empathy, understanding, resilience, non-judgement and honesty as we work together in your life changing journey to recovery.

Play Therapy and Creative Therapy

I trained under The Place2Be as a Play Therapist where I counselled young children. I use play and creative arts therapy with the aid of toys, sand trays and art media to help aid their processes as children don’t have the cognitive ability to understand what’s going on for them. Children have a limited vocabulary to express their thoughts and feelings and play is their natural way of presenting their inner world. Play Therapy is a means for children and adolescents to come to terms with their problems. It also provides a coping mechanism that allows self-expression which aids the development of self-control, self-esteem and self-responsibility.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy is an experience that I value which I incorporate in my therapy. It’s a non-reactive method which allows you to be mindful of the present moment; noting feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations with an attitude of curiosity and non-judgement: allowing feelings and letting be.

I worked as a Counsellor for Care for the Carers as well as Macmillan Cancer Support.

Further Information

Online Counselling

I offer online counselling where you can *email me your problems or you can talk to me live on Skype.

The Benefits of Online Counselling:

You can express your worries with me in the comfort of your own home
You have the convenience to re-read and process your Counsellor’s responses as a 50 minute face-to-face session can be daunting and overwhelming to try and take it all in in one go.
If you are housebound, you can access this type of support
Anonymity maybe important to you
You may feel inhibited in a face-to-face situation
Your busy lifestyle might make it difficult for you to find a spare time for a face-to-face counselling

*Email counselling is charged at £35 per e-mail and I will send you my reply within 3 days of receiving it.
