About Meadows Therapy

Each individual has their own unique story and my aim is to provide you with a safe environment where you will be free to express and explore your feelings and emotions without the fear of being judged. I endeavour to make every person feel at ease and allow space to explore the things on your mind. If you are looking for someone with patience and insight to work through this difficult time, or are finding a problem or relationship difficult to cope with, I can offer help and support to work things through.

I am a fully qualified and registered counsellor, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist and trained to listen to what you have to say in a compassionate and understanding way. I work in an integrative style which means I can adopt a method of working to suit your particular needs.

My practice is located at very safe and modern offices in central Braintree with easy access to the train and bus stations. There is free parking available.

Unknowingly, we can be held back by unhelpful habits or negative thoughts. My objective is to create an open and trusting relationship between us to help you gain a better understanding of who you are, and why you do the things you do.

Couples counselling or relationship counselling focuses on the problems arising from intimate or sexual relationships. It is different to individual therapy in that the ‘relationship’, rather than each individual person, is the ‘client’.

Marriage/co-habitation/civil partnership is based on intimacy and trust and when it stops working it causes stress and unhappiness which spreads to other areas of our lives causing our health and wellbeing to suffer. Outside influences such as work pressure, family problems, money and health all take their toll and can send a once solid and happy relationship into despair. Suddenly, the relationship that was once grounded, leaves us drained and exhausted. Prolonged problems over time such as lack of communication, arguments or some kind of event that instantly breaks the trust in the relationship such as an affair can lead the relationship to crisis point. The couple may be confused, both breaking up and staying together feels wrong, especially if children are involved.

Relationship counselling is a safe, confidential environment, where both partners can be heard and differences acknowledged, with a view to learning skills to manage conflict together in the future.

My training, work experience and any achievement

I am a qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. I am registered with The National Counselling Society, The General Hypnotherapy Register and the Hypnotherapy Society. I adhere to the Codes of Ethical Standards and Conduct provided by these professional bodies. I undertake regular supervision and continuous professional development allowing me to develop and flourish as a practitioner.

My background as a Human Resources Director allows me to fully appreciate the challenges people face at work and my experience in this area allows me to help people resolve their issues at work and realise their full potential.
