Hello, I’m Elaine an accredited, experienced and professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. A Graduate of "The University of Life, as well as Goldsmiths College", now able to utilise my experiences of living "life on life’s terms" in supporting others in facing the many and varied challenges to the Human Condition.

With the expertise acquired from counselling training and ongoing personal/professional development I work to foster a positive therapeutic relationship "a working alliance", an experience that can be taken forward to improve relationships with significant others having discovered the all important "relationship with self". It works, it really does, as Freud said "therapy is a talking cure", give it a go you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!.

Counselling offers the opportunity to explore aspects of your life that may be confusing and challenging, seek solutions and options for "change". It also offers the space to think and to reappriase.

My training, work experience and any achievement

I also have extensive experience as a play and art therapist working with primary aged children and adolescents. This has provided me with insight and understanding of how patterns of relating are influenced from the earliest of life’s experiences.

Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, MA (Psychoanalytic Studies) , Goldsmiths College, University of London. Art Therapy, Goldsmiths College. Diploma in CBT. Supervision Training with British Association of Psychotherapists.

Areas of expertise, working with adults, couples, and adolescents experiencing difficulties and uncomfortable feelings, the sense of aloneness, not being a part of but apart from! - Enhanced CRB check.

Individual one to one sessions

I offer both short term 6-12 sessions solution focussed therapy (CBT). Or longer term sessions exploring and seeking to understand the difficulties that may have their roots in childhood and are "in the way" of fulfilment.
