Counselling

Experiencing emotions such as low moods, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, cultural issues, can become so overpowering we find it difficult to carry out our everyday lives in a way we are happy with. Feeling ill at ease mentally affects our physical health too; therefore it needs to be addressed.

Today’s technology dictates a fast pace of life and it is inevitable that on occasion we find it difficult to keep on top of it all. This can be frustrating and disorientating. Losing control in our life is frightening and can cause unpleasant feelings we are not familiar with, such as, anxiety, panic, dread - feelings that can become overwhelming.

It is not unusual to experience mental distress at any age or at any time in your life. Change in our mood can come over us gradually or suddenly, sometimes for no reason, other times it can be pinpointed. Often we have no idea of the cause but it does not make the symptoms any easier to deal with.

Counselling is an opportunity to explore aspects of your personal life that are confusing, troubling or upsetting you. Counselling takes place in privacy and provides you with undisturbed time, on a regular basis, where you can talk in confidence about personal issues.

To begin a journey of personal growth is challenging and liberating and I believe will enable you to live a fulfilled and contented life. Through therapy you may find you have control that you never knew existed, and choices beyond your imagination.

Support

Understanding, patience and care in a safe and confidential environment can often be what are needed to help you through difficult periods. The counselling environment will facilitate you in enhancing your own self awareness, you will discover who you are and how you got there enabling you to feel more self assured. This process will free you to see you have choices in how you experience life and the confidence to make the right ones for you.

I believe there are reasons for the way we are, the way we deal with life. I trust that we all have in built resources to cope with life’s demands and issues. Given a supportive environment where you feel free to speak without fear of being judged, where you are listened to - can help you to acknowledge and become aware of elements of yourself, thereby enhancing change.

Depression and low self esteem are common feelings that appear frequently in counselling and are areas that I have great understanding of. Bereavement and loss are often causes for people to feel ill at ease and I personally am very interested in this field - it is an area I feel very passionately about and have worked a lot with clients covering these issues.

To begin a journey of personal growth is challenging and liberating and I believe will enable you to live a fulfilled and contented life. Through therapy you may find you have control that you never knew existed, and choices beyond your imagination.

You can begin to live your life how you want.

Although our past may be responsible for who we are, we are responsible for who we become. This is a lonely and scary prospect at first which is why counselling will share your fears until such time you feel
