About Village Osteopathy

Michael Andidorou founded Village Osteopathy in 2006 and has successfully treated many patients of all ages with a wide variety
of conditions. Patients visiting Michael are often surprised to experience immediate relief of a problem that has plagued them for sometime…
"I can quite quickly identify and diagnose a patients problem and therefore treat them. In most cases the patient can recover within three to four visits. On occasions it may take longer or further tests may be required and with the consent of the patient I will request any these investigations from the doctor the results of which will help in the diagnosis. It is not our policy to ’string patients along’ if my patients do not see an improvement in their condition within a reasonable time or I feel I cannot help them (they may need surgical or medicinal intervention) I will refer them along with a letter identifying my findings and any recommendations".
Michael Andidorou Registered Osteopath graduated from the British College Of Osteopathic Medicine, London, after completing a four year Osteopathic Medicine degree. The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) is internationally regarded as one of the world’s best specialist osteopathic education institutions.

"Michael has treated a wide variety of conditions ranging from acute to chronic injuries, treating sports people from elite to amateur and ergonomic related office injuries and has gained a good relationship with local G.Ps, he has undertaken numerous post graduate courses in sports injuries, lower limb biomechanics and ergonomics.

What to expect

On your first consultation your osteopath will conduct a detailed full medical case history, which includes your current complaint, past medical history, general health, lifestyle, family history, any x-rays/operations or blood tests you may have had and if you are taking any medications.

Osteopaths use their hands to identify abnormalities in the structure and function of a body, and to assess areas of weakness, tenderness, restriction or strain. We also use many of the diagnostic procedures used by medics.

By this means, your osteopath will make a full diagnosis and discuss with you the most appropriate treatment plan, estimating the likely number of sessions needed to treat your condition effectively.

Treatment will be aimed at helping to restore your health to pre-injury condition and will include a plan to prevent the problem reoccurring.

Osteopaths usually start any treatment by releasing and relaxing muscles and stretching stiff joints, using gentle massage techniques, rhythmic joint movements and muscle release techniques. The osteopath may also carry out manipulation using short, quick movements to spinal joints. Other techniques may also be used depending on your problem.

Initial consultation is between 45min - 1 hour, treatment thereafter 20-30 minutes.
