Elma McElligott is an experienced Licensed acupuncturist offering acupuncture to a wide variety of people.

Acupuncture is suitable for all ages including those who are pregnant. It can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine. I treat a variety of conditions including Migraines and headaches, anxiety, insomnia, menopausal symptoms and infertility issues. I can provide acupuncture support throughout IVF treatment and also provide acupuncture support for pregnant women throughout their pregnancy and into labour. I can also help with post cancer treatment support for those who wish it.

Many people come to Acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or to relieve specific pains like osteoarthritis of the knee. Some use Acupuncture because they feel generally unwell but have no obvious diagnosis. Others choose Acupuncture simply to enhance their feeling of well being.

My training, work experience and any achievement

Elma McElligott is a experienced licensed Acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC) with a BSc (Hons) degree in Acupuncture from Greenwich University. In combination with over 30 years of nursing experience she endeavours to bring the best of both medical modalities to the care of her clients. She works with all general health conditions and has a special interest in women’s health including minor menstrual problems, anxiety, natural fertility, IVF support, pregnancy care and the perimenopause.
I am an Affiliate Acupuncturist with the Zita West Clinic and a Member of The Alternative Fertility Network. Both these organisations specialise in treating all aspects of human infertility.

Further Information

As a Registered General Nurse I discovered Acupuncture some 9 years ago following a period of personal ill health and it has literally transformed my life. I went on to retrain and graduated from the College of Oriental Medicine in East Grinstead. I love working with this medicine and seeing my patients recover is immensely rewarding.
I keep up to date with new research and techniques by attending a variety of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses each year including the British Acupuncture Council’s annual conference. I enjoy the variety of general practice, and am passionate about sharing the benefits of this wonderful system of medicine with my patients. I have a wide ranging practice but I also have special interests in all aspects of women’s health and also in using Acupuncture for male and female fertility concerns, minor pregnancy and menstrual problems.
