About Nicola Fielding

Nicola Fielding is a qualified acupuncturist.. Her desire to study acupuncture was borne out of her own positive experience when receiving acupuncture herself. She now treats patients at the Mayura Yoga Centre and the Thorpe Bay Clinic.

Nicola is passionate about the positive effects of acupuncture treatment. Like all acupuncturists, she aims to find the root cause of a patient’s symptoms and provide treatment to assist recovery by helping energy to unblock or move more smoothly around the body. As an example, consider how stress may manifest in some people as muscle tension in the head and neck/shoulders perhaps leading to headaches or other symptoms like clenching the jaw, frowning, frustration, irritability and poor sleep. Acupuncturists aim to treat the physical symptoms and to unblock the tension or “stuck energy’, helping the patient to see things from a clearer perspective.

In the West, more and more people are turning to acupuncture for help. With the increase in acupuncture’s popularity, numerous clinical trials have, and continue to be conducted in order to provide evidence as to its efficacy. Trials confirm acupuncture to be effective in treating conditions such as low back pain, knee pain, migraine & headaches, nausea & vomiting. There is also strong evidence to show that it provides significant benefits in fertility & IVF treatment. The British Acupuncture Council regularly updates their website regarding other trials.

My training, work experience and any achievement

Nicola holds a BSc degree & Lic Ac in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture. She studied at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. She is also an ITEC qualified holistic massage therapist and deep tissue massage therapist. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.

Nicola has also trained with Acuregen, a leading cosmetic college, and offers cosmetic facial acupuncture. This combines specific and individual facial points, other acupuncture body points, facial treatments using only natural/paraben-free products and massage to provide a holistic treatment for general well-being and anti-ageing effects. Where there is good flow of blood and energy there is a healthy and youthful complexion.

All needles are sterile and single use only. All products used in cosmetic treatments are of high quality and natural & chemical/paraben-free.
