About Croydon and Purley Acupuncture Practice: I got interested in traditional Chinese philosophy while studying physics at university and began studying Shiatsu while doing my masters. Initially as a hobby then during a trip to China I got to see acupuncture being practised and I decided to change career. During this time I also got interested in Taichi which I also teach.
I work at three locations: central croydon, Sanderstead and Warlingham.
I also teach acupuncture at the International College of Oriental medicine in East Grinstead.

My training, work experience and any achievement: I’ve been practising acupuncture since 2000; having trained in shiatsu previously, I undertook the acupuncture training at the International college of Oriental medicine in 1996 and then went on to study with a number leading teachers in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Europe and Japan.

I use a mixture of Chinese and Japanese techniques though my speciality is Japanese shallow and contact needling techniques. These are designed for maximum effect with minimum intervention/discomfort making it a particularly good choice for the needle shy.

I also use Chinese Herbal medicine either along side acupuncture treatment or as an alternative. I trained first in Kanpo Japanese herbal medicine and then in Classical Shang Han Lun herbal formulas upon which much of Kanpo is based.

I treat a wide range of conditions, typically back pain, neck and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, sciatica, carpal tunnel, headaches, migraines, fertility, menstrual pain, menopausal symptoms, depression, anxiety, insomnia, skin problems, digestion, IBS, constipation, diarrhoea, nausea, fatigue, low immunity, fibromyalgia, ME, persistent cough and phlegm, sinus pain, stress and many more.
