About Peachy Acupuncture

Acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is a system of medicine that harnesses the body’s natural resources to heal itself. It’s an immensely powerful but subtle therapy that has been practiced in China for thousands of years. Acupuncture is safe and effective in the hands of a qualified practitioner: and the subject of many scientific trials.

I practice from my home clinic in Crouch End N8, in Hendon NW4 and at other North London locations. I am fully qualified in body, auricular, facial cosmetic and facial therapeutic acupuncture and deliver TuiNa massage, a very dynamic form of Chinese deep tissue massage. I also offer vitamin shots; b12, b complex, C, D, biotin.

My colleague, Kung, offers fantastic thai oil massage, and pregnancy massage. And I love what I do.

Further Information

ACUPUNCTURE
Body acupuncture

The most common form of acupuncture, where the acupuncturist takes a full medical history, and asks question about your health issues. Following diagnosis, needles are placed at different points around the body and left for 30-40 minutes.

Cosmetic facial acupuncture and rejuvenating massage with acupressure

A wonderful, toxin free alternative to invasive surgical treatments, cosmetic acupuncture is a very effective way of promoting collagen, reducing lines, toning and enhancing facial contours. This is combined with a relaxing facial rejuvenation massage.

Auricular (ear) acupuncture

Clients can be treated with auricular acupuncture in a seated position, while points around the ear are needled. Tiny sngle use needles take a minute to put in and stay for half an hour, making it an ideal treatment for busy people.

Auricular acupuncture can be delivered on an individual basis or within group sessions. You can host a group of six friends at your home for an hour a week over six weeks, and Peachy will come to you to deliver the treatment around your kitchen table or lounge. Alternatively, bring a friend to a session and be treated together.

MASSAGE

TuiNa Therapeutic Massage

TuiNa is a dynamic form of massage based on the same principles as acupuncture and clients often feel energised and invigorated after a treatment.

TuiNa is a strong, therapeutic massage used to treat a variety of health issues as well as being very effective for musculo-skeletal conditions. It is delivered as a stand-alone treatment or to complement acupuncture.

Swimming for health

As a qualified swimming teacher and lifelong swimmer, Rita uses the medium of water to help clients improve their technique, reduce their fear and relax the body. If a client has musculo-skeletal problems or suffers from stress and anxiety, swimming without putting strain on the body is a great way to reduce aches and pains and reduce tension. Rita’s approach uses eclectic teaching methods to help clients to move fluidly through the water.

Please feel free to look at my website or call me to discuss your health issues.

If it’s the first time you’ve considered acupuncture you may have concerns about being treated with needles So below is some information you may find useful.

The single-use fine sterile needles come in sealed packs. They will be opened in front of you and are safely disposed of after each treatment.

Acupuncture needles are much finer than needles used for injections and blood tests. When the needle is inserted you may feel a tingling sensation or dull ache. The needles rarely hurt when inserted and, in most cases, they are not felt at all.

When the acupuncture needles are actually inserted, they are usually left in place for around 30-40 minutes. Methods of stimulating the acupuncture point, include moxibustion (application of heat), and placing a cup over the acupuncture point (cupping). Occasionally needles are manipulated to elicit what is known as DeQi. This may feel like a dull ache or a light sting. The feeling is momentary.

Nikki, London, September 05 2014

I was suffering with terrible neck and back pain and decided to try acupuncture for the first time. Rita was very reassuring and I got immediate relief from her treatment of both TuiNa massage and acupuncture. I also had other health issues which she is treating me for. My back is so much better, that I rarely feel even a twinge and thanks to acupuncture my general health has improved. I had always been a bit sceptical about acupuncture but now I’m a convert! Highly recommended.
