My training, work experience and any achievement

Professor Chen is a world class, highly acclaimed TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine) doctor. Born in 1938, he graduated from the Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1964 and has been practicing at the Balance Oriental Health Centre since the year 2008. Patients of Professor Chen can relax in the knowledge that they are in safe hands. He has twice been awarded honors at the International Academic Exchange, holds senior positions within many TCM organisations and had over 20 academic papers published.

Professor Chen specialises in peripatetic acupuncture to treat a wide range of medical conditions including skin disorders, pain, stress, high blood pressure and diabetes. A pioneer in his field, Professor Chen developed the use of peripatetic acupuncture for the treatment of infertility problems. With a combination of acupuncture and a specially designed herbal mixture, Professor Chen has achieved an outstanding success rates.

Professor Chen treats each case individually and with his extensive knowledge he is quickly becoming recognized as London’s leading TCM doctor.

Further Information

Professor Chen developed peripatetic acupuncture. Peripatetic acupuncture alters a person’s temperature in order to treat a variety of disorders. The change in temperature positively effects the nervous system, immune system, circulation system, endocrine system and lymph system, maximising the bodies functions. The practitioner will either cool the temperature of certain body areas by three to six degrees or warm it up by two degrees.

Advantages of heating technique- In some patients peripatetic acupuncture will be used to improve the circulation in one particular area. The treatment time varies between 30 and 45 minutes and the increase of temperature can be beneficial for treating a variety of problems including depression, liver problems, fatigue syndrome, infertility and much more besides.

Advantages of cooling technique- Cooling the entire body temperature or a specific area will help detox the body. It is also a beneficial treatment for hot flushes, herpes zoster, hyperactivity and irritability. In special circumstances intense cooling may be used to offer protection to the organs, tissues and cells.

From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine peripatetic acupuncture gives quicker results when balancing a patients Yin and Yang. The benefits of this ground breaking treatment are endless and can even be effective in the immediate alleviation of asthma or disappearance of joint pain. A patient receiving peripatetic acupuncture will not experience strong pain and indeed many patients finding it extremely relaxing.

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in order to prove the effectiveness of peripatetic acupuncture. Infrared imaging showed that 98% of participants involved in the study reacted with either a rapid increase or decrease of inner temperature. Some volunteers had localized temperature change whilst others experienced a change in the entire body. The results of the study showed positive changes for all patients.

This innovative treatment is changing the face of acupuncture, presenting new possibilities for both TCM patients and those receiving treatment via western medicine. Peripatetic acupuncture is laying a foundation for further high end medical researches and is presenting a unique way to both prevent and treat diseases.

Our clinic can offer support at all stages of IVF treatment to optimise your fertility and increase the chance of success.

The benefits of Peripatetic acupuncture and specially formulated Chinese herbal mixture.

•Increase the lining of the uterus and sensitivity of the ovary.
•Reduce the negative effects of stress on hormones and promote an overall sense of well being.
•Regulate internal balance to decrease the rate of miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies.

What should I expect?
At your first consultation Professor Chen will require detailed information about your medical history, the characteristics of your menstrual cycle and your general health. Professor Chen relies on four methods of diagnosis, observation, hearing/smell, medical background enquiry and touching. During the examination your pulse will be taken to determine the overall condition of your body. Dr Chen will then devise a treatment plan which is tailored specifically to your needs.

Where appropriate the aim of the treatment will be to regulate the cycle and support ovulation or implantation. The medicine may be prescribed as a tea or in pill form. Professor Chen may also recommend lifestyle and dietary changes. Treatment times are a minimum of three months although more complex problems may take longer.

Our clinic is happy to work closely with yourself and your western doctor in order to develop the best treatment plan
for you.
