About Kai Xin Holistics

As an experienced practitioner, I use my training in natural medical systems to inform individualised and effective treatments, tailored to achieve the best results for my clients. Since2008 I’ve taken on a program of learning, training and professional development ,which is ongoing, in a range of physiological and energetic teachings.

I use Tuina, a form of Chinese deep tissue massage, to invigorate, release and give effective relief from a wide range of client conditions. Tuina techniques are applied as sports massage, remedial massage, holistic massage and are suitable for young people, as well as adults and the elderly. This is a fully clothed treatment. Medical oils are sometimes used but do not require the client to undress.

Physiologically, Tuina works into the tissues to encourage circulation, break down scar tissue, relieve tension and aid joint problems. It encourages healing in muscles, tendons and ligaments, and improves overall health. It also makes use of the holistic principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and includes acupressure techniques that stimulate the circulation in the body’s meridians. It is a powerful experience that relieves many symptoms, including frozen shoulder, back and neck pain, joint problems, stress and anxiety, headaches and tendonitis. Although it is a powerful massage, the techniques can be used subtly on more delicate problems.

I am a qualified qigong tutor, trained by QigongUK and teachers from the 7 stars Taichi school. As part of the traditional Chinese medicine system, this practise informs my treatments. For information about classes or for individual sessions, please contact me.

Reiki complements the massage work I do and it can be a relaxing and re-energizing experience in itself. As a reiki practitioner, I am happy to combine a massage and reiki treatment as required by individual clients.

Since 2011 I have been undertaking training in Shamanic practices at Lendrick Lodge, with Stephen Mulhearn, student of Peggy Dylan and Sandra Ingerman. I have seen great results in clients who have requested Soul Retrievals, Power Retrievals and Extractions.

From November 2013, I shall be incorporating Indian Head Massage into my repertoire. I’m very excited to be able to share this experience - watch this space for more info!

A Tuina massage with Katy leaves me feeling restored, refreshed and walking taller. I find it particularly helpful in banishing the lower back stiffness which comes from being desk bound during the day and welcome the additional insights Katie is able to give on posture and preventive measures. A very satisfied customer, I cannot recommend Katie highly enough.

Can’t recommend Katie enough. She put me as ease straight away and spent a good part of the session asking me about my diet and where exactly my pain and discomfort was. As a circus artist I suffer from all sorts of aches and pains. Katie not only sorted my back and shoulders put also relived the pain in my wrist which I have had for many months. I only wish she was closer to Bristol

Kerry, Peak District, November 25 2013

I have had various treatments from Katie over the years (massage, Reiki, and Shamanic) all have bee wonderful and felt very healing. Katie takes into account individual requests and needs and always explains what she’s doing as she goes along. If you’re thinking of trying a different type of alternative therapy don’t hesitate but to book in with her you won’t regret it. She has a wonderful warm energy and I’m only sorry I don’t live closer to Sheffield.

I can fully recommend Katie’s massage treatment. I’ve had back pain for a couple of years and am at a loss with how to relieve it. Its a powerful massage which was intended to help break down some of the tension in my back in various places where it had built up, also to increase blood flow and help with drainage. Katie helpfully explained what she was working on around the body which was really interesting as she clearly had a really good understanding of how problems in one part of my body had linked to the other. she is confident with her technique and very informative, but she’s also got a wonderfully calm, open and positive attitude which makes you feel 100% at ease being treated. I felt a couple of inches taller and a weight off my shoulders after she had finished!

Judy, Sheffield, November 24 2013

Katie treated my frozen shoulder and I quickly felt the positive results. Each session gave me definite improvement and within weeks my shoulder was fine even though I’d had the condition over a year. Katie is not only skillful but very professional and pleasant too.

Marcus, Sheffield, November 23 2013

Each time has been really worth it, I have been for two all body sessions and one session focused on my knee due o chronic pain. Afterwards I really felt the benefits. Katie informed me of the benefits of the massage and was very friendly and professional. Definitely recommended

Ruth, Leeds, November 23 2013

I had a massage with Katie at a festival, and was suffering with a tension headache. Usually when I have one of these, sleep is the only option. After a 15 minute massage with Katie, it was gone altogether, and I enjoyed the rest of my night. Thank you!

Fi, Sheffield, November 22 2013

I have used Katie for a couple of treatment sessions, once when I was training for the Sheffield half marathon and once when I had back problems due to breast feeding. I found the massage to be incredibly useful and healing, I certainly felt invigorated and much better afterwards. Katie is simply lovely and wonderful to work with, I would recommend her to anyone.
