About Nourish & Renew Holistic Nutritional Therapy
I practice holistic nutritional therapy within a functional medicine framework. Nutritional therapist’s do not diagnose or treat disease, rather I aim to support my clients health through the application of personalised nutritional treatment plans, grounded in nutritional science, which are designed to address underlying biochemical, metabolic and nutritional imbalances which may be contributing to a clients symptoms or health concerns. Treatment is ultimately aimed at encouraging the body to heal itself, to restore balance in and between organs and systems and to promote vibrant health and vitality.
I am truly passionate about life-giving, nourishing and delicious food, and the ability of nutrition to support, sustain and revitalise us. My ultimate aim is to share this passion, and my nutritional knowledge with my clients in order to enable them to take control of their own health, and make life-long positive changes.
My passion for nutrition was born over 15 years ago when I turned to nutrition and herbal medicine to address my own health concerns. I was so inspired by how natural medicine was able to improve my health, that I decided to train as a nutritional therapist and dedicate my career to supporting others in recovering and restoring their own health.
I studied for my nutritional medicine degree over a period of 5 years whilst also working as a dental practice manager for a busy West London practice. I currently live in Leicester with my husband and son.
My training, work experience and any achievement
I graduated with a BSc in nutritonal medicine from the University of West London in 2011. I am a registered nutritional therapist and a member of both the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) both of whom are approved as accredited registers of complementary therapists by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.
I founded Nourish & Renew in 2013, and began to practice from the Eastgate Complementary Health Centre in 2014.
I am usually available in my Leicester clinic on 3 Saturdays per month, and from my London clinic 1 Saturday per month. In clinic consultations can also be arranged in Leicester during the week. Please contact me for availability.
Initial consultations must be carried out in clinic, but follow up consultations can be carried out either in clinic, online via Skype, or over the phone.
Initial consultations are 1 hour in length and are charged at £80 (Leicester) or £95 (London). This fee includes the consultation, the time taken by me in researching your case and appropriate treatment options including dietary and supplement interventions, and occasionally functional tests, and additionally includes your written fully personalised and comprehensive nutritional therapy treatment plan which will be presented in a folder and posted to you within one week of your consultation. The treatment plan includes; fully detailed dietary advice with rationale, personalised to your requirements, a meal planner, at least 10 recipes tailored to your plan, a recommended supplement prescription (I only recommend supplements of the highest, professional quality and am happy to be able to offer my clients a discount on the RRP on all supplements), relevant advice sheets e.g. on how to keep blood sugar levels balanced, a list of resources including where to buy specialist foods and any further information that I believe you may find helpful e.g. Copies of scientific research relating to your treatment protocol.
Follow up consultations are usually carried out 4-6 weeks after the initial consultation, are 30-40 minutes in length and are charged at £40 (Leicester) or £50 (London). If the initial and first follow up consultation are booked together the fee is reduced to £115 (Leicester) or £135 (London). This price includes an amended treatment plan, if required. Further reductions are available when block booking follow up consultations, please contact me to enquire.
I also offer special packages, including a whole food plant based nutrition programme, a thyroid support programme, a winter health boost and a cleanse programme. Please see my website www.nourishandrenew.me for full details.
Most clients are provided with a supplement prescription, and occasionally I will recommend functional testing (e.g. for nutrient deficiencies or hormonal imbalances etc). Additional fees will apply for both nutritional supplements and functional tests. However, both are completely optional and will always be discussed and agreed with the client. I always prescribe the highest quality, professional nutritional supplements and am usually able to provide supplements at a discounted rate on the RRP.
I am also a registered therapist with the organic skincare company ’Green People’. Green People products are very well suited to clients with sensitive skin, skin complaints, allergies or those who wish to avoid or reduce their exposure to man made chemicals e.g. SLS, parabens and petrochemicals. Clients who choose to purchase Green People products through me will receive a 10% discount on their purchase.
