Respectful of the privacy of clients, preserving the confidentiality of information acquired whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
My core approach is Person-centred. However, from an integrative perspective, my choice of therapeutic interventions derive from the conceptualisation of the problem. That choice is made by relating the intervention directly to the nature or character of the problem being addressed. My toolbox comprises of many techniques and I use whatever fits my client best.
As a counsellor, my aim is to support my clients as they explore who they are and help them to discover the influences that shape their unique view of the world. My motivations are geared towards fulfilment and helping people towards achieving theirs.

Other concerns & issues I deal with
Having successfully worked and completing a variety of workshops at Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, I have sound knowledge of domestic violence issues, rape & sexual violence, teenage partner abuse, domestic violence (children & young people) and FGM femail genital mutilation.
I have also had the opportunity to work with residents that have been victims of domestic/sexual violence within a Birmingham refuge for a period of two years. Each case was a huge success. Each case with the service user was unique. I offered non-judgmental, safe and caring sessions, listening attentively and emotionally supporting women to personally grow and feel empowered.
