About Brigid Wells
I offer a range of recommended ways to support you - including talking, compassionate and mindful attention, image making, creative arts, movement and metaphor. Engaging with creative, developmental therapy can support your self understanding, the processing of difficult events, reduction of stress, transitions, and help to build / re-build your self-trust and internal resources - so that the bumps on life’s journey can be better managed; you feel more ready to embrace challenges and opportunities with more confidence and exuberance!
The early sessions will focus on feeling comfortable, compassionate and creatively identifying the areas with which you want support. I will share some educational information with you, to help you understand the process of change and how you can get the most from therapy. My practice is not ’goal oriented’, and I believe that the themes and areas that are limiting your vitality and keeping you from being ’present’ in your life, will be revealed as we work together. We would usually meet once a week and continue to consider what is causing you difficulty / distressing you / what is important to you, at each session.
We will keep mindful of the themes you initially identified, and we can decide if fewer sessions / less regular meetings will be supportive of your needing the therapy space less, until you are ready to end therapy - with the option of ’drop in’ future sessions if and when needed.
I offer an Online Service too, if accessing therapy venue / time is difficult.
