About Ulrike Munford
Since becoming a Reiki Master and Teacher in 2005 (Practitioner Member of the UK Reiki Federation), I have been successfully practising Reiki with people of all ages from babies to the elderly and with a variety of stress-related complaints, emotional problems including anxieties and bereavement, injuries such as knee and back problems, Parkinson’s Disease, cancer, allergies, sleeping disorders, depression and ME.

Over the last 5 years I have been using special flower essences to greatly enhance and speed up the healing effects of Reiki as an option.

I offer a personalised service, always aspiring to empower my clients to help themselves to attain good health and a more positive outlook. I usually treat my clients in the comfort of their home or, if preferred, in my treatment room.

I have a background in medical information technology and worked for many years in Germany as software analyst and line manager but decided to leave my successful career due to a stressful corporate life, sick building syndrome symptoms and fertility problems.

I qualified in a German government accredited 2 year course as advisor for healthy and sustainable living, which gave me a thorough understanding of the way in which our health is affected by food and chemicals in the products around us.

Over the last 18 years, I have worked with therapies such as Reiki, Homoeopathy, Yoga and Flower Remedies to restore my general health and support two successful pregnancies. In 2000, I began my training in Reiki to help my son recover from allergies and asthma.

Further Information
What is Reiki?

Reiki is a safe and powerful hands-on healing technique that brings calm, clarity and stillness to your mind and healing to your body. Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that brings your body back into balance and treats you as the whole person that you are.

Reiki boosts your body’s ability to heal itself and can very successfully be applied to enhance the effectiveness of other therapies including conventional healthcare.

Regular Reiki treatments can be very supportive when you intend to take more control of your life and change it for the better by taking more time for yourself or improving your diet.

Reiki can help with most medical conditions, whatever your age or situation. Even newborn babies and pregnant women can be treated safely. It can also be given to animals and plants.

However, Reiki is not an alternative to conventional medicine. Please always consult your GP about acute or infectious conditions.

What happens during a treatment?

You can choose whether you want to stay seated or lie down. Since you should be as relaxed as possible, it is advisable to wear loose, comfortable clothes.

The practitioner tunes into Reiki and, placing their hands gently on or over your body, transmits Reiki through to you. You may feel this flow as heat, tingling, by seeing colours or just feeling relaxed and safe. You will automatically only draw in as much energy as you need, there is no danger of overdosing.

What should I do after the treatment?

Reiki is deeply relaxing, detoxifying and de-stressing, but also energising.

It is advisable to drink plenty of water to help flush out any toxins, to rest if tired, especially immediately after the treatment, and to allow Reiki to continue its work in the following days.

Some people experience a good night’s sleep and some feel like they can pull out trees.

How often do I need treatment?

A single treatment may be enough for you, but generally, a course of regular treatments may be more effective. Depending on your condition and your response to Reiki, a few monthly, fortnightly or even more frequent treatments may be advisable.
