About Emerging Purpose

Welcome, my name is Greg and I offer Psychosynthesis counselling. I work with individuals providing short & long term psychotherapeutic counselling in London & Brighton.

Sometimes we can lose our purpose in life and we start to wonder what it’s all about. I believe that we all have an ’emerging purpose’ even if we are not aware of it.

I offer psychotherapeutic counselling in London and Brighton to help clients tune into their purpose, sharing about the blocks and resistances that show up in their lives in the form of addictions, limiting behaviours, anxiety or even depression.

Talking in a safe and confidential space can help us find perspective and clarity, enabling us to step fully into our own lives.

Probably the most important thing is that you meet with someone who you can get on with and trust. This site will hopefully give you some sense of me as a person, as well as information about my training and approach. If you decide I am not the right person for you these links take you to on-line therapist directories: BACP, UKCP and the Counsellor’s Directory You can find out more about me and my experience here.

If you are interested in taking steps to begin the therapeutic process then please click here to read about how to move forward and make initial contact. This will give you a clear idea of how we can work together.

My training, work experience and any achievement

I hold a post-graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis counselling, awarded by the Psychosynthesis Trust.

I have experience in working with 12-step members, relationship issues, co-dependency, addictions, traumas, performers, family constellations, depression, self-esteem, anxiety & stress, panic attacks, family & relationship concerns, career or life choices and questions of meaning and spirituality.

I also work with anyone who feels lonely, excluded, alienated, frustrated, stuck, put-upon, inadequate, unrecognised, rejected, misunderstood, or just a bit sad– in other words, all of us, at times.

Over the last 20 years I have worked as an actor and enjoy working with creatives of all kinds. Over the past 12 years I’ve worked closely with the NHS , training healthcare professionals in communication skills, enabling them handle complex and challenging issues.

Having sat in the client’s chair I know what the experience of being a client is and how vulnerable one can feel being witnessed by another. This was one of the most important parts of my training as a counsellor, and I believe has given me more empathy and more compassion for anyone who decides to give counselling a go.

Further Information

I am a counsellor working in London & Brighton. After an initial contact by e-mail or phone we will arrange an appointment as soon as we can at a mutually beneficial time.

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. It will be a space for you to ask any questions you may have about me or the counselling process and to talk about what brings you to counselling. At the end of this session we should have a good idea as to whether we want to work together and continue with further sessions, although you may want to think it over for a few days.

Once the decision is made to continue we will establish a ‘contract’ that we both feel comfortable with. This will make clear the confidential nature of the sessions, the cancellation policy and establish our commitment to working together in regular weekly sessions. For example we may initially contract to meet for 6 weeks, to see how that works out. This may be a sufficient number of sessions or you may then decide to continue open-endedly.

In all cases the sessions are best conducted on a consistent weekly basis to gain the most out of the work together. I have a 48 hour cancellation policy although I will always try and be flexible and offer an alternative time and day If I can. If the session is cancelled within the 48 hours the full session fee will be liable.

Each 50 minute session:

Individuals £60.00

Once we have met face to face there is also a possibility of working together via Skype sessions or telephone counselling. These are charged at the same rate as an individual sessions.
