About Farah Blackburn
I am qualified in the evidence based approach of Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. I therefore look closely at the client’s thoughts, feelings and behaviours and incorporate them into my treatment plan. Understanding how these factors influence a problem a client has requires joint effort and clients are reminded that any therapeutic talking treatment will be most beneficial when the client wants the change to happen themselves. This is particularly true for smoking cessation and weight control. In my work I strive to achieve results and will consider the client’s motivation during the consultation phase of treatment.

In my previous work I supported people at times of emotional crisis, supported young children on the autistic spectrum, cared for people with acquired brain injuries and supported them in regaining everyday skills. In addition, I have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, post graduate diploma in psychiatric research and a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. I have then developed a vast understanding of people and the way they think, feel and behave and their reasons for these. In addition, I have been told that I am an approachable friendly person and since these are key factors in building a good working relationship with clients I believe this contributes also towards achieving results.

I am able to offer help with:

confidence
smoking cessation
relaxation
anxiety
depression
insomnia
pain management
phobias
and weight control.

I am however always expanding my knowledge so if there is something you believe I might be able to help with but are unsure please contact me to discuss your query. You can also find further information on my website www.confidence.london.

Before my academic studies and work with people I trained as a dancer and continue to dance now. It is because of my background that I have grown to understand the importance confidence and how it can influence people’s lives and the goals they are able to attain. Confidence London grew out of this idea as if I can help people develop confidence in an area where it is lacking I will have helped somebody to remove some of the barriers that may have been holding them back from tackling and possibly achieving a goal.

Further Information
In my work I always try to establish the level of confidence each client brings to their sessions. This is because confidence is often a key component to what is holding somebody back from experiencing life in the best way they can. It may be social confidence, insecurities about ones own physical appearance, lack of confidence in abilities or being able to achieve something. Helping clients work on any weaknesses in confidence helps to break away some of the barriers which may have been holding them back.

To compliment my focus on confidence, I have chosen to offer help with smoking cessation and weight control in my treatments. Many people spend great amounts of money on trying to "look good" by seeking facial treatments, diets or other body toning treatments. These can be very helpful for people to work on their physical appearance, but without also working on the psychological aspects of the person’s confidence and view of themselves as well as working on their long-term habits and behaviours results can be more limited. Habits, such as smoking and overeating can hold a person back from looking their best and feeling good about themselves.

In essence, my focus on confidence reaches further in helping people who want to look and feel better about themselves work towards achieving this goal by looking at the habits that may have been holding them back, such as smoking and diet, whilst at the same time working on any confidence issues the client may have.
