About Vanessa Zopp Therapy
I am a qualified therapist trained in Psychodynamic Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and I am a Registered Member of BACP. If you are going through a tough time suffering from, low mood, relationship issues, anxiety or even if you are not sure yet, I am here to listen and help you to gain a more serene and fulfilling life.
Before becoming a therapist I worked for various years in the City of London, I know the pressure of having to commute every day to work and juggle professional and personal needs at the same time.
The journey to become a therapist started when I joined the Samaritans and from there, my interest in helping others grew and made me the woman I am today.
How can counselling help me?
Counselling has proved to be effective in enhancing lives of those experiencing depression, bereavement, family issues, social anxiety, feeling empty, low self-esteem, abuse and work or study stress.
I am emphatic and compassionate, and I offer a space where you can be truly listened and understood in the context of your environment and past in a warm and non-judgmental way.
I usually allow the two initial sessions to think together whether a more active approach, where both will engage with your present (CBT), or an explorative one, where you may reflect widely on the past (Psychodynamic), suits better your needs and practicalities of life.
What to expect in your first session?
During the first two sessions we will look at your reasons for coming to counselling together with your goals and hopes for therapy. This is also an opportunity to get to know each other and for you to reflect on whether you wish to work with me. By the end of the two meeting you will know which modality you will be working and for how long.
